Brazil FIFA World Cup Squad 2018 – Match, Schedule & Predictions

Brazil always centers in any big tournament as one of the most favorite choices. FIFA World Cup bears the testimony of their triumph. Though they were completely outclassed by the Germany team in 2014, they recovered well after 2016 under their new boss Tite.

Before the Tite time, Brazil was struggling after the fifth position on Conmebol qualification round. Tite helped his students bouncing back from the bottom to top winning all the 8 matches with far more difference in defensive and offensive record.

It had been possible because of the right squad selection and formation consistently.

Brazil FIFA World Cup Squad:

Brazil has experienced a total reformation after 2014. It was ended with some extraordinary choice of hard working players other than the talent. Every team has announced their provisional squad what will be ensured 23 men in June 4. Here comes the Brazil Squad:

  • Goal Keeper: Allisson (AS Roma), Cassio (Corinthians), Ederson(Machester City)
  • Centre Back: Miranda(Inter Milan), Marquinhos(Paris Saint-Germain), Thiago Silva(Paris Saint-Germain), Geromel (Gremio)
  • Full Backs: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Danilo (Machester City), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid) Fagner (Corinthians)
  • Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Paulinho (Barcelona), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Willian (Chelsea), Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk)
  • Forwards: Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Taison (Shakhtar Donetsk), Douglas Costa (Juventus)

Goalkeepers in Brazil

Allisson is the first choice of Tite as he appeared in all 8 games under him. He also proved his worth conceding only 2 in qualifying round. But the other two is not very far from Alisson. Ederson picked up by Manchester City waiting to debut for Brazil. The FIFA World Cup 2018 may be his magical time for a glorious career. Cassio was successful for a long time helping Corinthians to win Copa Libertadores in 2012.

Centre backs

Brazil always plays attacking football. According to a saying “forwards win a match but defense grabs the tournament” Brazil has got a rock solid defense these days. Miranda and Marquinhos will build one of the best pairs in defense.

After the fall of 2014 Brazil has flip some big names behind giving chance to the performer. Thiago Silva will fly for Russia while another big name David Luiz will miss the plane.

Full Backs

DaniAlves and Marcelo might be the best choice for Tite as Full backs. But DaniAlves has ruled out for his knee injury replaced by Danilo. Marcelo is the best left back and first choice for his club and country.

But Felipe Luis is breathing his neck. Fagnerwas well known for Tite from the time together in Corinthians and Rodrigo Cayo will enrich the substitutes.

The formation Tite likes to follow needs a holding Midfielder like Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro. Manchester City’s Fernandinho will be the substitute of Casemiro.

Casemiro and Renato Augusto will back up Paulinho in Midfield to provide their Forwards. Paulinho was flop in English and Chinese league but revived in Barcelona attacking and scoring frequently. Paulinho was the starter of all the 8 matches under Tite.

Luan of Gremio is a surprise choice but performed well for his club Gremio consistently. Willing may be in the bench with Giuliano as the substitution choice for Tite.

The two world’s most expensive player Neymar and Philippe Coutinho will share the wing in Brazil team. Neymar has already been recovered from his injury and ready to run in FIFA World Cup 2018.

Coutinho had a great season in Liverpool last year that helped them qualify and soar up in Champions League. Gabriel Jesus the lead scorer in qualifying round will fill the attacking trio for his team Brazil.

Roberto Firmino who replaced Coutinho in Liverpool will be sub for Neymar here while Douglas Costa will do the same for Coutinho.

Brazil World Cup Schedule:

  • Sunday 17th June – Brazil vs Switzerland – Rostov Arena, Rostov on Don
  • Friday 22nd June – Brazil vs Costa Rica – Saint Petersburg Arena, Saint Petersburg
  • Wednesday 27th June – Brazil vs Serbia – Spartak Stadium, Moscow

Who will change the game?

It is the Neymar time in Brazil. He is the most expensive player in the world. Tite chose Neymar in left to break the bones of defense.

Another man Coutinho will run in right alongside Neymar. But they are all superstars now who might be in the rudder of other teams.

Tite prefers Gabriel Jesus up fron in his 4-1-4-1 formation. So the trump card may be the forward Gabriel Jesus or in the midfield the fallen hero of English League Paulinho.

According to the most statistics Brazil is the second choice of 2018 World Cup winner – the odds 5/1. After the disastrous 2014 world cup and struggling first part of qualifier Tite has managed his team to top the table.

He approaches the best team as the performance and reform the team to win Sixth trophy for his country. They are a formidable team backed by two formidable individual talent.
